Quality and Rankings
Newcastle is a truly world-class University. We are ranked in the World top-150 in the QS and Times University Rankings (110th in QS World University Rankings 2024 and 139th in the Times Higher Education University Rankings 2023). We are one of the founding members of the Russell Group, made up of the UK’s elite research universities.
We are particularly proud of our work on sustainability. In 2022, The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings placed Newcastle first in the UK, and eighth in the world, for our research impact against the Unite Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Fees and Scholarships
Our location in the North East of England means that Newcastle is a very cost-effective place to study. Rents and cost of living are up to 65% cheaper than in London (QS Student Cities). On top of this, we have a generous package of scholarships available to high-achieving students. You can search for Undergraduate and Postgraduate funding opportunities by clicking on the links.
Courses and Entry Requirements
We offer a comprehensive range of courses at undergraduate (BA, BSc, BEng, LLB) and postgraduate (MA, MSc, LLM, PhD) level, as well as Foundation and Preparatory courses. Search for Postgraduate courses here and Undergraduate here. Entry requirements are given on the individual course pages, and there is more information for students from specific countries here.
Most courses have one intake per year in September, and applications for September 2023 open in September 2022 (see course pages for application deadlines).
Accommodation
Our accommodation application portal is now open for 2023/24 applicants. You can apply here.
